These things really work. Makes a huge difference. Yes, you have to do some taping inside the input and output areas of your A/C unit. Take the time necessary to do it right so everything works efficiently. Beyond that the silencer makes the A/C noise tolerable. Admittedly the cost is steep but still well worth it. RV Upgrades got two units to my home really quickly. The shipping was free.
When I ordered kit I watched the install video. I went ahead and prepared unit as I waited for kit to arrive. I bought good foil tape for sealing it up. There were a lot of "leaks" . When the kit arrived all I had left was to install the cover. I will caution, if your camper has a slide that goes over parts of the AC when closed make sure you have clearance since this cover is 2.25 taller. I merely cut a notch in the slide trim with oscillating saw.
