When choosing an RV air conditioner, cooling capacity measured in BTUs (British Thermal Units) is a critical specification. The higher the BTU rating, the more powerful the cooling. Common RV air conditioners range from 13,500 to 15,000 BTUs. A higher BTU rating, such as the 15,000 BTU found in the Coleman Mach 15 Plus and the Advent Air ASAACM150SP, provides robust cooling for larger RVs or hotter climates. For moderate needs, a 13,500 BTU unit like the Gree RVA-135R OD can be sufficient. With a variety of BTU options, you can find a model that fits your specific cooling requirements. See full answer »

Airflow strength, measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM), determines how quickly and effectively an RV air conditioner can circulate cool air throughout the vehicle. Higher CFM ratings ensure faster cooling and better air distribution. For example, the Coleman Mach 15 Plus boasts an impressive 320 CFM, making it ideal for larger RVs or those with ducted systems. High airflow ensures comfort in all corners of the RV, and many models offer adjustable fan speeds to customize airflow to your needs. See full answer »
