INSTALLATION SUGGESTIONS
BASIC INSTALLATION
This is the simplest and most popular installation method. Just secure existing trailer leads behind the hitch area using tie wraps or Velcro™ straps. No tools are required.
Requirements:
• JetConnex™ cord with connectors that mate with your existing vehicle and trailer connectors.
• Tie wrap or Velcro™ strap
SURFACE MOUNT
These two Surface-Mount installations provide you with a permanently mounted trailer-side receptacle, without making major modifications to your trailer hitch. These layouts provide professional watertight systems that allow you to easily remove the JETCONNEX™ cord.
BRACKET
Requirements:
• JetConnex™ cord with connectors that mate with your existing vehicle and Trailer-side connector to match plug.
• RECEPTACLE: 4 or 5 PIN (part #04-4 or 05-4)
• Mounting Bracket (part #15-0)
• Wire nuts & tape to connect the receptacle leads to the existing trailer wires
Requirements:
• JetConnex™ cord with connectors that mate with your existing vehicle and 5-Pin Round Connector On Trailer Side.
• JetConnex™ 5rx bracket and receptacle kit (part #16-5)
• Wire nuts & tape to connect the receptacle leads to the existing trailer wires
FLUSH MOUNT
This is the most professional-looking and ambitious mounting method used by custom trailer manufacturers and hot boat enthusiasts. It requires a large drill bit and some planning to make sure you can fish the trailer leads through the hitch. Many customers think this is the cleanest installation method, but make sure you know what you are doing before you attempt this system.
