EternaBond AlumiBond EternaBond sealant tape is an ideal solution to roof leak repair and maintenance. EternaBond comes in several varieties, with one example being AlumiBond. EternaBond AlumiBond sealant tape features a backing that is 4-mil of aluminum sheeting, laminated to the adhesive side. It can be painted to match whatever surface it sticks to and also sticks to itself, making it possible to wrap around an object. It helps seal leaks on objects like trailers, storage tanks and roofs, while also preventing leakages and corrosion in boats, canoes, drain pipes and aluminum roofs. AlumiBond uses EternaBond’s MicroSealant Technology, which is a 100% solids formulation of synthetic resins, thermoplastics and noncuring rubber, with a built-in primer. AlumiBond is available in 25 or 50 foot lengths, with varying widths of 2, 4 or 6 inches.
AlumiBond tape is easy to use and install. After making sure the surface is dry and clean, the AlumiBond tape can be placed on the area that needs repair. It is a good idea to remove the protective lining on the adhesive as you need it, to avoid any foreign objects coming in contact with the tape. Rubbing the tape with a roller or your hand helps jump start the bonding process and avoid potential air bubbles. It has a wide temperature range, and can be applied to surfaces ranging from 150°F to -20°F. AlumiBond sealant tape has a shelf life of 5 years and remains resistant to corrosion and UV radiation.
