The SPD GSNI Black Nitride Shaft Gas Spring distributed by JR Products combines
proven reliability along with the added feature of a nitride shaft. The GSNI Gas
Spring incorporates a strong annealed steel rod with a Nitride coating for added
corrosion resistance combined with a composite end fitting. This gas spring is
an ideal choice for RV applications and features an over all black appearance.
The GSNI series gas spring comes standard with the
EFPS30 end fitting.
Gas Spring Fit an Selection
If you already have a gas spring installed, select a replacement by following the below instructions
- Remove the existing spring from it's mounting brackets
- Measure the extended length from center mounting hole to center mounting hole (EL in the diagram below)
- Measure the amount of piston that is exposed while extended (called stroke) (S in the diagram below)
- Using the chart below, find the extended length that is the closest match to your gas spring and then use the stroke to narrow the selection further. (Note: this does not have to be exact, but the closer the easier it will be to install the replacement)
- To select the force, look for a stamped number on your current gas spring. It is usually the last 2 digits and followed by the letter N (which stands for Newtons) 1 pound equals 4.4482 Newtons. This is the pounds of force being exerted to open or hold open the door or platform. It does not equal the weight of the door or platform.
